Thematic Hike: Thasos – Pangeo: Authentic Living
During this unique experience, visitors will go through a range of emotions. From the very first day, they will feel a sense of rebirth and deep connection with nature, as exploring Thasos and Pangeo offers unparalleled beauty and tranquility. The tour of archaeological and historical sites will fill them with admiration and respect for the region’s history and cultural heritage.
Immersing in nature through hiking and activities such as jeep safaris and visits to hidden nature reserves will provide a sense of adventure and discovery. The experience at the Hatzigeorgiou Refuge, with its calming atmosphere and the Orphic Night, will bring peace, spiritual upliftment, and a deep connection to tradition.
Meeting locals and tasting traditional products—from coffee and loukoumi to fine wines—will strengthen the connection to this special place, offering an authentic experience full of hospitality and warmth.

Day 1 – Arrival and Welcome
- Arrival: At Thessaloniki or Kavala airports.
- Transfer to Keramoti Port:
- From Thessaloniki Airport: approx. 3 hours.
- From Kavala Airport: approx. 15 minutes.
- Ferry to Thasos: Crossing time approx. 40 minutes.
- Arrival in Thasos: Transfer to Chrissi Ammoudia (Golden Beach), check-in at the hotel, and time to relax.
- First Meeting: Welcome by the tour guide and presentation of the program for the upcoming days.
Day 2 – Marble, Sculptures, Traditional Architecture & Stunning View
- Ancient Agora & Aliki Quarries: Discover the history of the famous Thasian marble and the centuries-old excavations.
- Archangelos Monastery: A spiritual site in a breathtaking location with stunning views.
- Theologos: A picturesque mountain village with traditional architecture and streets reminiscent of the pirate era.
- Kostas Lovoulos Workshop: Explore the unique marble sculptures of a renowned artist, crafted from the island’s famous white marble.
- Limenas: Free time in the island’s capital to enjoy fresh fish in traditional tavernas or explore the ancient excavations at the old harbor.
Day 3 – Jeep Safari: Nature Adventure on Thasos
- Lake & Virgin Mary Waterfalls: Discover a hidden paradise of crystal-clear water surrounded by lush greenery.
- Marble Quarry: Witness one of the island’s impressive quarries where the renowned white marble of Thasos is extracted.
- Ypsario (1,206 m): Enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire island and the mainland from its highest peak.
- Mountain Village Kastro: Stroll through charming stone alleys and experience authentic Greek flavors in a rustic village tavern.
Day 4 – Hiking in the Heart of Thasos: From Panagia to Chrissi Ammoudia
- Exploring Panagia Village: Walk through the narrow, cobbled streets of this traditional mountain village, known for its stone houses and natural springs.
- Sotirelli Olive Mill: Learn about the production of Thasos’ famous olive oil and taste delicious local products.
- Dragon Cave: Discover this mystical cave filled with legends and stunning natural beauty.
- Panoramic Trail to Chrissi Ammoudia (Golden Beach): A 12 km (~4-hour) hike through forests with spectacular views of the sea and surrounding mountains.
Day 5 – Farewell to Thasos & Excursion to Philippi (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
- Breakfast & Check-out: Departure from the accommodation and transfer to Limenas Port.
- Ferry to Keramoti: Enjoy the last crossing with views of the island.
- Guided Tour of Philippi & Krinides: Visit the ancient city, museum, and impressive theater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Baptism Site of Lydia: Explore the place where the first Christian woman in Europe was baptized by Apostle Paul.
- Seasonal Activity (depending on the time of year, choose between):
- A mud bath or hydrotherapy at the natural mud therapy center in Krinides.
- Lunch: Enjoy traditional dishes in nature, either in the town center or in the Pangeo forest.
Day 6 – Hiking in Pangeo & Orphic Night at Hatzigeorgiou Refuge
- Hike to Hatzigeorgiou Refuge: Start from Lyomena with an approximately 3-hour ascent (5 km) through dense forests to 1,750 m altitude.
- Arrival at the Refuge: Relax in a unique alpine landscape with a light meal and local herbal teas.
- Climbing “Eis” (Pylaf Tepe): Watch a spectacular sunset with panoramic views over the Pangeo Mountains.
- Dinner & Orphic Night: Enjoy traditional dishes accompanied by hymns, music, and singing in a mystical atmosphere.
Day 7 – Hiking, Voskovrysis Cave & Wine Tasting
- Breakfast at Hatzigeorgiou Refuge: Start the day with breakfast in the heart of nature.
- Hike to Voskovrysis Cave: A 5.5 km (~5-hour) trek with an experienced mountain guide through fascinating natural landscapes, including a stop at a picturesque waterfall.
- Return to Mesoropi: Relax in a traditional café with Greek coffee and freshly made loukoumi, or explore the village with its traditional houses.
- Lunch: Enjoy local specialties in one of Mesoropi’s restaurants.
- Biblia Chora Winery: Take a tour of this renowned winery, learn about the production process, and taste exquisite wines.
Day 8 – Departure & Farewell
- Breakfast & Check-out: Last moments of tranquility before saying goodbye.
- Transfer to the Airport:
- Thessaloniki (~2 hours) or
- Kavala (~45 minutes).
