It is with great pleasure that it is announced that the experiential tourism collaborative network Pangeo Travel has won the Gold Award at the Tourism Awards 2026, in the category 2.1 Collaboration, confirming the power of collaboration as a key pillar of sustainable tourism development.
Pangeo Travel is a collaborative network of people and businesses who share their love for Pangaio and work collectively to highlight the region. The awarded initiative concerns the development of an innovative model of thematic and experiential tourism, aiming to transform Pangaio from a relatively unknown destination of natural and cultural wealth into an organized, sustainable, and narratively cohesive destination of experiences.
The project was based on close collaboration between local stakeholders, businesses, scientific teams, associations, and communities. Through this partnership, a meaningful connection of natural, historical, and cultural resources was achieved within a unified and recognizable tourism narrative, enhancing the authenticity and attractiveness of the region.
